Ex-Taliban Children Fighters

The Meshal rehabilitation center in Sawat Valley is one of the project’s by Pakistani Army’s. Its aim is to clear the area of Taliban militants. The center offers specialized courses and programs supervised by religious scholars, experts, and psychologists focusing on correcting youth perceptions on the teachings of the Quran and improve their behavior. Fayth explains his time and experience amongst the Taliban’s. He told Al Arabiya how he was forced to join the Taliban’s in the Sawat Valley over two years ago. In the mountain side of the city, another rehabilitation center was built for former Taliban Militants. The center is called Sebaone or a day light center as they wish to call it. These children were reported to be under threat of Taliban militants and were forced to carry guns and be suicide bombers before they are released. The center offers programs and special curriculum to erase Taliban memories from their minds before they get integrated into public schools. These centers aim to battle Taliban ideologies with knowledge and wisdom and prepare those youth to be proactive in their societies.
