The top commander in Afghanistan says international forces have killed the Taliban insurgents responsible for downing a US helicopter and killing 38 US and Afghan forces over the weekend. (Aug. 10)

Based on the official DOD casualty list. 30 of American’s best, to include 17 US Navy Seals, were killed when their helicopter was shot down by the Taliban in the early morning hours of 6 August 2011.
